Sound like something straight out of Hollywood? It should. Visual Eyes studio facilities located in Westlake Village, California about a half-hour west. In addition, the media capital serves as a source of inspiration for Visual Eyes productions.
Visual Eyes® saw its first glimmer in 1978, when Gerard Gibbons graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a B.A. in Communications Arts. He didn’t want to follow the standard track of television or movie production…So he changed direction radically. His second calling: healthcare. Three years of school followed to complete a B.S. in Visual Science… and then four more years to become an eye doctor.
On his first day as an optometry student at Pacific University, a work-study program changed his life. The job? Making medical training videos. In fact, he founded his school’s Healthcare Video Services Department. In so doing, he discovered a way to blend his new love for science and medicine with his artistic passion for filmmaking. Gerard produced videos that clarified the intricacies of eyecare for physicians, students, residents and patients. He got rave reviews—and discovered his mission.
After completing his post-graduate work in 1985, Dr. Gibbons joined an eyecare practice and began seeing patients. What was different is that he also founded Visual Eyes® Inc., a medical video production company. His unique combination of clinical expertise and production experience offered distinct benefits to companies who needed to communicate their message to doctors, nurses, staff and patients.
What started as a one-man operation quickly grew into a team of production specialists. Visual Eyes has grown to include the corporate, government, defense, and advanced technology communities. These are industries with complex stories, sophisticated audiences, and precious little time. The exact customers for whom Visual Eyes was created.
Visual Eyes® has evolved to meet the demands of an astute audience. We’ve diversified to produce DVDs, CD-ROMs, and Web-sites—all with the same flair that goes into our award-winning Videos.
