Instructional Designer

We're in search of a person who is passionate about learning and developing materials that advance the learning of others. This person will be in charge of researching, planning, developing, managing and evaluating the entire instructional development process for training-based projects. The individual will be an analytical, yet creative, thinker with the ability to also work closely with customers as well as writers, producers and developers.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Own the overall direction and final outcome of training-related projects to ensure concept and construct fit accurately with intended learning outcome
  • Get into the mind of the target audience to understand viable entry points and anticipated roadblocks to knowledge acquisition
  • Use of superior storyboarding skills to precisely communicate instructional strategies to development team members
  • Develop a concept map for each project based on preliminary research
  • Analysis of content, target audience, job tasks, and learner environment to identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives
  • Analysis of input from subject matter experts to develop and modify instructional material
  • Develop and utilize an effective evaluation method to measure impact of each training program
  • Design and development of instructional strategies that meet the needs of target learners in an interactive multimedia and/or web-based training environment
  • Design and development of assessment schemas that measure comprehension and impact of training
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Instructional Technology, Engineering or closely related field
  • 5 years of instructional design experience in interactive multimedia and/or web communications environments
  • The ability to effectively lead and work within a team environment is a must
  • Excellent communication and demonstrated project management skills
  • Possess strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as have advanced planning abilities, sound judgment and superior communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and customer relations skills
  • Understanding of military, government and health care markets is preferred
Proven ability to lead multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
